KellyParish: Manchestie, England; I work predominantly with paint and photography. My work is concerned with processes of editing and altering, focusing on the uncertainty and unreliability of the image, and consequently of memory and knowledge. Recently I have been altering photographs, both in the darkroom and by painting on to them. These photographs, documents portraying apparent realities, are transformed, worked and reworked, highlighting instability and the impossibility of truth. Nothing is ever as it seems. I make anxious art in uncertain times.
